Based on the details and rowing figures, experts attribute this work to Johannes Hermanus Berend Koekkoek (1840 - 1912). Unfortunately there is no signature and we are not yet able to properly substantiate this claim!
Afgaande op de details en de roeiende figuren, schrijven experts dit werk toe aan Johannes Hermanus Berend Koekkoek (1840 - 1912). Helaas ontbreekt de handtekening en daarom zijn we niet volledig in staat deze toeschrijving te onderschrijven.
This canvas (75 x 120 cm) was doubled for reinforcement, depicts a lighthouse in a heavy storm and a rescue boat leaving port to save the crew members of the burning ship on the horizon.

The painting is gorgeous in itself, but if indeed the creator is JHB Koekkoek this work is more than a good find.
Het is een schitterend schilderij, maar als de maker inderdaad JHB Koekkoek zou zijn, is dit meer dan een goede vondst
