The Oosteinderbrug / bridge, Noordwijk, around 1915...

Oil painting, 2008, board, 30 x 40 cm

The Oosteinderbridge or Schiebridge around 1915. At the right side of the picture you see the House Rozenhof, which was demolished in 1960.

At the left side of the Gooweg the house of the family Bijleveld and later J. van 't Wout. The building with the tower is the villa "Mignon" in which today architectural firm Van Egmond is situated. The villa was built in 1900 by S.A. van Konijnenburg, director of the former bulb company at the Schiestraat. The houses in the background were demolished and today it is the passage to the La Bassecour Caanstraat.

The paintings of Rob van Assen are very popular and we are proud to be able to offer one on our website. Bright and detailed this work offers a glimpse in the history of Noordwijk, a typical Dutch village around the second last turn of the century.
