An early EA108 chair, produced by Herman Miller, in the period 1973 - 1975. The chair has some light signs of wear, but is in a remarkable good condition given its age. A good opportunity to gain a quite rare Charles & Ray Eames chair from this period.

Een vroege EA108 - stoel, geproduceerd door Herman Miller, in de periode 1973 - 1975! De stoel heeft enkele kleinere gebruikssporen, maar is in een opmerkelijk goede staat, zeker gezien zijn leeftijd. Een leuke mogelijkheid om een redelijk zeldzame Charles & Ray Eames stoel aan te kopen van deze periode.

Kwaliteitsindicatie / quality indication:

Almost no wear in aluminium parts

Some very light wear in the leather: a little black spot on the lower left front of the chair (see picture) and a few (three), quite small white-pinkish spots on the seating (pictures available)

Estimated date of production:

1973, because:

1) it is still is a first generation chair (1958 - 1973) with the pedestral base which was only used with four glides. Made from polished aluminium, the wide legs provided great support and upright seat position. In the period 1966 - 1973 the second generation chair was introduced and was sold side by side with the first generation before entirely superseding it. The 2nd generation had the universal base, which could be fitted with either floor glides or castors. It has floor lateral legs with the four feet in downward position.

2) the stamp in the aluminium foot (see picture) was only used in the period 1973 - 1975.
